The Fleming Family Foundations, encompass four independent, private, family foundations. Established in 1989, these four separate foundations were originally funded from the dissolution of Kate Stamper Wilhite’s charitable trust. The great aunt of Howard, Louise, Charles and David Fleming, Kate Stamper Wilhite lived of long life of commitment to her family, her faith and her community.
To honor her life and philanthropy, the four siblings decided to establish four separate foundations:
The Howard T. and Sara B. Fleming Charitable Foundation
The Louise F. and George C. Thornton Charitable Foundation
The Aunt Kate Foundation, formerly the Charles and Jennifer Fleming Charitable Foundation
The David Avery Fleming Charitable Foundation.
These four foundations enable the family to serve a broader geographical area, the unique needs of those communities and the diverse interests of the siblings, while at the same time keeping alive the family spirit of working together by partnering on certain projects and initiatives.
Two of those foundations are represented here.
